82 days!

82 Days. My precious baby is due to arrive in (approximately) 82 days!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by.  It seems like the first 6 months disappeared before I could even begin to prepare. It’s funny, when I was pregnant with Carter it was all I could think about. Planning the nursery, reading about and preparing for the birth… and now here I am less than 3 months away from having my second baby and I feel so behind from where I was last time. I guess that’s what chasing a 1 (almost 2) year old around will do for ya!

That said, I feel ok about where we are. The nursery is in progress, we registered two days ago, and my baby shower is in the works. The baby seems to be doing fine, and we are getting our house in order making room for number 2.

So, here is a nursery room update: We decided we wanted white furniture, so we watched craigslist for a couple months and found some pretty sweet deals. Our dresser was the best find. Someone was selling a brand new in the box white 6-drawer dresser for $80. It sells for around $160 I believe. So we bought it, but when we opened the box all the hardware was missing. So we called the people we bought it from and asked if they would give us half our money back since we basically only bought half a dresser… and they did! Then we went to the manufacturer’s website, filled out a missing pieces form, and they shipped us all the missing pieces for free! SO, we got a brand new dresser for $40! Its perfect.

For the rocker, we didn’t want to take Carter’s from his room since he uses it every night, so again we turned to craigslist. Kent found one in Norman for $70, which was fine because he had a meeting in Norman that night like a mile from where he got the rocker, so it wasn’t even out of the way. It needs to be recovered to match our decor, but it was a great deal. They are normally about $300 new.

I also found a cute little kid rocker and a pink lamp at thrift stores, each only $4… and have since seen them retail for $17 for the lamp and $70 for the rocker.

I’ve bought fabric for the curtains, bumper (I’m recovering one I bought at a resale shop), quilt, and bedskirt. And I’m hoping to have enough extra to make a changing pad cover. I’m not sure what fabric to recover the chair with, but I’m not worried about it.

We registered for her crib, some shelves and a couple baskets, and we are going to paint some stripes on one wall. I bought some frames at IKEA and have an iron thing I might paint white and hang on the wall. All in all, I feel pretty good about getting the room done in time. And if I don’t, that is fine too.

Welp, Carter just woke up from his nap, so back to mommy time!
